Welcome 2009 Ruggers!
Please stay tuned to this website for periodic updates and Club business for our 2009 season.
Practice. We will begin informal sessions the first Saturday in December, and continue each December Saturday thereafter. Starting time: 9:30am at Oak Ridge High School (meet in the upper parking lot). Our regular practices begin in January at Rolling Hills Middle School, from 4:00 p.m. to approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please understand that schedules are subject to change due to field use conflicts or inclement weather, so always check the website for the latest information. League play begins in February. For January only, we will also practice with A-Side prospective players at the Promontory Park field in El Dorado Hills on Mondays, going from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30pm. The A-Side schedule will be posted on the website soon.
Meeting. Our Player/Parent Informational Meeting date will be announced in a few weeks. To meet liability insurance and the requirements of USA Rugby, all players should be registered with USA Rugby before attending any practice sessions. See the left sidebar for the link to USA Rugby.
Registration. Also, players must be registered as members of the Mother Lode Rugby Football Club. See the left sidebar for the instructions and link to the form.
Gear. All it takes to practice is shorts and cleated shoes (football or soccer cleats are permitted so long as the front cleat is removed). Regular equipment and uniform orders will be explained at the Informational Meeting, but the cost runs approximately: shorts-$20, socks-$6-$8, jerseys-up to $65 (expensive, but they can last several years). We will also order tee-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. if enough people want them.
